Lava IRIS Pro 30+ unveiled at INR 11,990 in India

Lava IRIS Pro 30+Lava, the Indian smartphone maker, has unveiled its new IRIS Pro 30+ smartphone, six months after the launch of IRIS Pro 30. The phone has been priced at INR 11,990 and will go on sale starting August 26.

Coming to specifications, the smartphone is dual SIM (GSM + GSM) and comes with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, Android 4.2, and 2000 mAh battery. In addition, it also packs 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with an option to expand up to 32GB via microSD card, 13MP rear camera and 3MP front camera.

On the connectivity front, it is 3G-enabled and supports EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and OTG Connectivity. The smartphone measures 138×67.5×7.9mm, weighs 116 grams, and is available only in Black colour.

Availability: According to Lava, IRIS Pro 30+ will be sold via all major retail stores as well as Amazon.in, which will be the exclusive online store for the phone.

 

Huawei to launch Ascend Mate 7 with fingerprint sensor at IFA on September 4

Huawei Ascend Mate &Huawei, the Chinese telecommunication equipment maker, is all set to unveil its new Ascend Mate series smartphone during the upcoming IFA trade fair in Berlin. As per an invite given to the Chinese tech media, the smartphone will be named as Ascend Mate 7 and it will be launched on September 4.

Huawei is also sharing a teaser which points towards a smartphone with fingerprint sensor and it is very likely that Ascend Mate 7 is going to be that smartphone with fingerprint sensor.

There is no official confirmation about tech specs, however as per the rumours, the new device will be released in two variants, one with QHD (2560x1440p) display and other with FHD (1920x1080p) display. It will have a 6-inch display, Huawei’s Kirin 920 octa-core processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. The phone will also have 3GB of RAM in QHD version and 2GB of RAM in FHD version.

Connectivity-wise, both the Ascend Mate 7 variants should offer Bluetooth 4.0, 4GLTE, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. Dual SIM-card support is also not ruled out.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S to go on sale at Lazada Malaysia beginning Aug 27

Xiaomi Redmi 1sOnline Shopping Mall Lazada Malaysia is all set to sell Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone for RM419. As per a press release issued by the retailer, the smartphone will be available from 3PM on 27 August.

Earlier, the device was launched at the Xiaomi Malaysia website and also retails via Digi and Celcon telecom operators, who are offering the phone free with postpaid plans. Lazada will be offering 3,000 units on first come, first serve basis.

Just to recap, the Redmi 1S smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch 1280x720p HD display and is powered by a 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor. It also packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with an option to expand it with microSD card, 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera and 2,000mAh battery.

Xolo releases beta version of KitKat update for Q3000

Xolo Android KitKat updateXOLO has released the beta version of the KitKat update for Q3000 smartphones. The company has updated the news on its official Facebook page and also asking users to give their feedback. It is not intended for everyone being a beta version, as it could have bugs or create other problems in your device. However, interested users planning to try out Android KitKat on their smartphone, can download the update from here.

The update can be installed very easily and the whole process is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is download the update file, transfer it to your Q3000, then open XOLO Care app on your phone, go to update and click check for software update.

XOLO has stated that it will be releasing the stable version of the update as soon as the testing is done via an over-the-air as well as manual download.

Samsung launches Galaxy Alpha Experience app on Google Play

Samsung Galaxy Alpha appSamsung has launched a new device experience app to learn about the design and features of Galaxy Alpha. If you are interested in purchasing the device, you can download the Galaxy Alpha Experience from Google Play. The size of the app is 48MB and it is free of cost.

To remind you, Samsung unveiled Galaxy Alpha on 13 August and the smartphone is equipped with a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display. It runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) and is powered by Exynos 5 Octa (Quad 1.8GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) processor. It also comes with a 12MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera.

The Galaxy Alpha will be available at the beginning of September and it will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue colours.

Oppo R831S coming soon to Malaysia

Oppo malaysiaOppo has posted a teaser on its official Facebook page that it is brining a new 4G smartphone to the Malaysian market. The smartphone in the teaser looks a lot like Oppo R831S, which was launched in China earlier. It is likely that it will noww be released in Malaysia with an affordable price-tag (probably below RM1,000).

Coming to specifications (as launched in China), the smartphone runs on Android and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor. In addition, it packs 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory with option to expand up to 32GB via microSD card, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and a 1,900mAh battery.

No other details are availasble right now but as soon as we hear something from the company we will let you know.

Asus coming with its first Android Wear smartwatch on September 3

Asus SmartwatchWith the IFA just two weeks away, it is time for the manufacturers to start teasing their upcoming products. ASUS, the Taiwanese giant, has now revealed that it will be introducing a smartwatch via a teaser, which notes “Something incredible is going to happen.”

The teaser says that the device will be unveiled on September 3, during the IFA in Berlin. The exact details of the smartwatch are still unclear but as per the online reports, Asus has put a lot of effort in the device and it is going to be better than the other Android wearables.

LG and Samsung have already released their smartwatches LG G Watch and Gear Live. Motorola is also expected to announce the availability details of its Android Wear smartwatch Moto 360 at IFA.
