NTT Docomo has announced its 2011 winter/2012 spring product lineup recently. There are 12 Android smartphones and a tablet in this line-up. NTT Docomo will release these devices between November and February.
All of the announced smartphones come with expected features like mobile-wallet (Osaifu-Keitai), infrared-based data exchange, one-seg mobile TV, Area Mail transmissions of Earthquake Early Warnings and tethering (in 9 models). Six of the announced smartphones also support telecom operator’s next-generation LTE service, Xi. Xi users will have to pay a flat-rate fee plan of ¥1,480 a month for domestic voice calls to other DoCoMo cellphones.
NTT Docomo has also stated that it will launch two new services called “dmenu” and “dmarket” in mid-November to provide apps and other content including movies, music, e-books.
Coming to the tablet, Docomo will be releasing Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus in December. It features 7.0-inch display with just 10.0 mm thickness and 1.2 GHz dual core CPU.
