Samsung on Thursday announced the new Samsung Gear S smartwatch. The Samsung Gear S provides an up-to-date smart wearable experience with 3G connectivity.

No more teasers, LG, the Korean giant, has officially announced its second Android Wear device of the year, – LG G Watch R. According to LG, G Watch R will be the world’s first watch-style wearable device to feature a full circle Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display that utilizes 100 percent of its display.
G Watch R comes with a 1.3-inch display, which LG claims will produce great image clarity even under bright sunlight and superb viewing angles.
Coming to specifications, it is powered 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and packs 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 410mAh battery. It is water and dust resistant with IP67 rating. In addition, G Watch R includes Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass, Barometer, and a heart-rate sensors.
The device will be released in Black and sports a stainless steel frame and interchangeable leather strap.
“What we’ve noticed in the year of the wearable is that this is a category that can’t be compared to smartphones and tablets,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
“Wearables are also accessories and consumers will want more than one to choose from. So we wanted to complement the modern design of the original G Watch with the classic look of the G Watch R. Customers can’t go wrong with either device,” Park added.
The LG G Watch R will be available in the market early in the fourth quarter of 2014.
LG has released a teaser video showing a rounded-design smartwatch. There has been lot of rumours and leaks that LG is going to unveil a new wearable device at IFA 2014 and now the teaser video confirms it.
The teaser has been released over LG’s global YouTube channel shows the unlike the company’s G Watch, the upcoming wearable with a round face and will be competing with Moto 360 smartwatch. No details about available at this point but the overall features of the device will most likely be same as other Android Wear products.
LG is not the only company coming with a wearable at IFA, Asus and Motorola are also going to launch their wearable devices during the trade fair.
With the IFA just two weeks away, it is time for the manufacturers to start teasing their upcoming products. ASUS, the Taiwanese giant, has now revealed that it will be introducing a smartwatch via a teaser, which notes “Something incredible is going to happen.”
The teaser says that the device will be unveiled on September 3, during the IFA in Berlin. The exact details of the smartwatch are still unclear but as per the online reports, Asus has put a lot of effort in the device and it is going to be better than the other Android wearables.
LG and Samsung have already released their smartwatches LG G Watch and Gear Live. Motorola is also expected to announce the availability details of its Android Wear smartwatch Moto 360 at IFA.
LG is getting ready to launch a new Android wearable, the LG G Watch 2, during the upcoming IFA trade fair in Berlin. According to a report published in Korea Times, LG has a “serious game changer” wearable that will be shown off at the trade fair, which is scheduled from September 5 to the September 10.
The report quotes an unidentified LG official, who has informed Korea times that LG is “working on a September release for the new smartwatch”.
The full details about the smartwatch are still a mystery but it is believed that the device will feature an OLED display, which will be different from the IPS LCD present in the G Watch. The new watch is also said to be using a Qualcomm processor. In addition, it will have Google’s voice recognition system, which helps in handfree operation.

While everybody is waiting for the press conference to be held by Motorola on September 4 in Chicago, an electronics retailer accidentally published the price and specifications of the device on its website. The listing has since been taken down.
Best Buy, an American electronic retailer, has listed all the details of the Moto 360 smartwatch. According to the retailer, the smartwatch will cost $250 and feature a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touchscreen with a 320×290 resolution and with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It also packs an optical heart rate monitor, pedometer, and Bluetooth 4.0 and will be compatible with most devices running Android 4.3 or later versions of Google’s mobile operating system.
The dimensions of watch are given as 1.8×1.8×0.4-inches and it weighs 2.1oz (59.53 grams).
The website does not mention the availability details of the watch but Motorola sould make it clear in Chicago on September 4.
