Huawei has announced the new Ascend G7 smartphone at the ongoing IFA trade fair in Berlin. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen, enhanced 4G LTE Cat4 connectivity and an optimized 13MP rear camera.

Samsung on Thursday announced the new Samsung Gear S smartwatch. The Samsung Gear S provides an up-to-date smart wearable experience with 3G connectivity.

No more teasers, LG, the Korean giant, has officially announced its second Android Wear device of the year, – LG G Watch R. According to LG, G Watch R will be the world’s first watch-style wearable device to feature a full circle Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display that utilizes 100 percent of its display.
G Watch R comes with a 1.3-inch display, which LG claims will produce great image clarity even under bright sunlight and superb viewing angles.
Coming to specifications, it is powered 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and packs 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 410mAh battery. It is water and dust resistant with IP67 rating. In addition, G Watch R includes Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass, Barometer, and a heart-rate sensors.
The device will be released in Black and sports a stainless steel frame and interchangeable leather strap.
“What we’ve noticed in the year of the wearable is that this is a category that can’t be compared to smartphones and tablets,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
“Wearables are also accessories and consumers will want more than one to choose from. So we wanted to complement the modern design of the original G Watch with the classic look of the G Watch R. Customers can’t go wrong with either device,” Park added.
The LG G Watch R will be available in the market early in the fourth quarter of 2014.

HTC has announced its new Desire 510 smartphone with LTE connectivity today. The smartphone offers incredible build quality and features, originally available in previous HTC models.
The smartphone comes with a 4.7 inch FWVGA display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. As per the HTC, the smartphone is an all-round multimedia powerhouse. “Owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn’t be reserved for those with the highest budgets,” says Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.
“People today should expect their smartphones to double as mobile entertainment hubs. This means ensuring that they’re fully loaded with the latest movies, TV shows and albums, by taking advantage of the super-fast network speeds available. The HTC Desire 510 does this and more, making it the perfect mobile media device,” Chou added.
Coming to the specifications, the phone runs on Android 4.4 with HTC sense and packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory with an option to expand up to 128GB via microSD card, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 2100mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, it comes with usual set of connectivity options. The HTC Desire 510 will be available in Terra White and Meridian Grey colours.
The HTC Desire 510 will be released in selected regions in Europe, Asia and through select carriers in the US. The company has not revealed the price of smartphone yet, but it should be affordable.

Huawei has launched a new low budget smartphone Honor 3C Play, a downgraded version of the Honor 3C, in the Chinese market.
The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 with Emotion UI and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor. In addition, it packs a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1GB RAM, 4/ 16GB of internal memory with an option to expand up to 32GB via microSD card, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front camera and 2000mAh battery.
The smartphone is dual SIM and offers 3G/HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity options.
The smartphone will go on sale in the Chinese market for startingg CNY599 (€72 or $97). It will be released in black, white, blue, yellow and pink colour options.

Volvo, the Swedish carmaker, has announced its new Volvo On Call app and Sensus Connect technology. The new technology will be available in their 2015 models, which will let the car owners control select features of their car with the Volvo On Call smartphone app.
Volvo On Call provides users with 24 hour roadside assistance, SOS emergency service with crash notification and stolen vehicle tracking facility. If the service is used in conjunction with On call smartphone app, it also keeps check on lock status of doors and fuel level of vehicle.
Volvo On Call app features:
- See vehicle dashboard values, such as fuel level, trip meters, and more.
- Control your engine block heater, if your car is equipped with a fuel-driven engine block heater.
- Locate your car on a map or using the car’s horn and direction indicators.
- Lock and unlock the vehicle.
- Request roadside assistance from the app.
- Keep an electronic driving journal that will create trip reports for every trip made with the vehicle.
The Volvo on Call app can be downloaded from Google Play.

LG has officially announced its G3 Stylus smartphone. The smartphone comes with a stylus pen and sports mid-range specifications.
The LG G3 Stylus will be available in Black, White and Gold colours and go on sale starting with Brazil in September followed by Asian, Middle East, African and CIS countries. Price and other details will be revealed during the local launch.
