Chinese smartphone Maker Xiaomi has announced the launch of Redmi 1S in Indonesia. Xiaomi Global VP Hugo Barra and the comapny co-founder Bin Lin presented Xiaomi’s first smartphone to the country. The smartphone has been priced at IDR 1.5 million (US$128).
Redmi 1S will be sold exclusively at online retailer Lazada and will go on sale at 1100 hours on September 4 until stocks last.
The customers interested in purchasing the smartphone will have to register on Lazada Indonesia website. Registrations for the first sale have already started and you can register till 2359 hours on September 3.
Coming to the specifications, the phone runs on Android 4.3-based MIUI v5 and is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. In addition, It comes with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with an option to expand via microSD card and 2000 mAh battery. It also packs 8MP rear camera, and 1.6MP front camera.
In terms of connectivity options, it offers 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG connectivity.
Xiaomi has not revealed the number of units available for sale on September 4, but one thing for sure they are limited in number.

Lazada, the leading online retailer in Indonesia, has tied up with another well-known brand Huawei to announce the launch of its Honor 3C smartphone exclusively on its website. The pre-orders for the same have already started and the smartphone can now be ordered at an affordable price of around Rp 2 million in White color option.
Huawei Honor 3C has become a quite popular budget smartphone in China and other overseas markets. In last 5 months, Huawei has sold 4 million units of the phone, stated an Huawei executive.
Lazada Indonesia CEO, Magnus Ekbom said, “We are very excited to further strengthen our partnership with Huawei and Huawei Honor 3C. We believe that the smartphone will be very popular among consumers.”
Huawei Honor 3C is offering a premium smartphone experience at a very low price in comparison to various high end smartphones.
Coming to the specs of the device, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to KitKat) and is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Mediatek MT6582 Processor. The phone also comes with 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720x1280pixels. In addition, Honor 3C packs 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera, 8GB of internal stoage, microSD card slot and 2300 mAh battery.

Xiaomi today revealed that it is going to enter the Indonesian market. The company announced their next destination via the official Twitter account. It will be the eighth market for the company, already operates in countries like China, India and Singapore.
Although unconfirmed, Xiaomi is expected to tie-up with an e-retailer in the country to sell its products like it did in India with Flipkart. There is also no news about the products that will available for sale.
To remind you, Xiaomi currently operates in China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore and will be heading to six more countries apart from Indonesia this year. These six countries are Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico.
Xiaomi devices are expected to be more expensive in Indonesia because of the VAT and prepaid income tax but the official prices are still a mystery. Xiaomi has also launched their website for the country, where can be seen here.

Samsung has confirmed to Cnet Asia that it will be releasing Galaxy Nexus in South-East Asian countries before the end of this year.
