Huawei unveils Ascend P7 Sapphire edition in China

Ascend P7 saffireHuawei has unveiled the Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition, the first 4G LTE handset with a sapphire screen, a limited edition series which will debut in China in Q3, 2014.

Huawei Honor 3C Play official, available soon in China

huawei_honor_3c_playHuawei has launched a new low budget smartphone Honor 3C Play, a downgraded version of the Honor 3C, in the Chinese market.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 with Emotion UI and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor. In addition, it packs a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1GB RAM, 4/ 16GB of internal memory with an option to expand up to 32GB via microSD card, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front camera and 2000mAh battery.

The smartphone is dual SIM and offers 3G/HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity options.

The smartphone will go on sale in the Chinese market for startingg CNY599 (€72 or $97). It will be released in black, white, blue, yellow and pink colour options.

Gionee releases a teaser of its slimmest smartphone

Gionee Slimmest smartphone teaserGionee, the Chinese mobile manufacturer, is ready to release its slimmest smartphone till date. The company has released a teaser, in which they show historic list of slimmest smartphones that have been launched since 2007. Moto V8 was the slimmest device at one time with 11.9mm thickness. In 2010, iPhone 4 grabbed the slimmest design and Moto XT910 became the slimmest phone in 2011. Gionee’s own S5.5 is the thinnest smartphone until now.

If you look at the company’s past track record, they are capable of producing slimmer smartphones than their previous devices without compromising on battery life and other smartphone features.

There has been rumours that Gionee is making a 5mm thick smartphone but nothing is comfirmed right now. We hope to hear more details soon.

Goophone N4, the replica of Samsung Note 4, revealed in China

GooPhonr N4The Chinese phone maker GooPhone, known for making clones of popular smartphones, has done it again. The company has unveiled a replica of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung is going to announce the device in the first week of September, but thanks to various leaks, GooPhone has replicated the looks of the device much earlier and it will be available for sale in China soon. The device is named as Goophone N4.

Coming to specifications of the clone, it runs on Android 4.4 and powered by 1.7GHz MT6592 octa-core processor. It also packs 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 13MP rear camera with flashlight and auto focus, 5 MP front camera and 3200mAh battery. The smartphone will be available in Black and White colours.

Chinese reseller Vifocal have listed the device for pre-order on the website, however the price and availability details have not been mentioned.

Xiaomi Mi band goes on sale in China on August 18

Xiaomi Mi bandChinese manufacturer Xiaomi is putting up its Mi band for sale in China on August 18. Mi band will cost just 79 yuan ($13) in the country, whereas outside China it will cost only $18, which is quiet a reasonable price in comparison to other wearable devices.

If you are in the market for a cheap wearable then keep your eyes on Chinese resellers after the 18th August for bargain priced Mi Bands.

The announcement of the device was done on during the Xiaomi Mi4 launch on the 22nd July. Mi Band is a basic device, with a rubber wrist strap, and small box of tricks with LED notification lights.

There is no news when the Mi band will go on sale in India or other markets.

Sony Xperia C3 ‘selfie’ phone to hit Taiwan, China next week

Sony Xperia C3Sony mobile communication of Japan will launch a new smartphone next week in China and Taiwan. Jonathan Lin, general manager of Sony Mobile’s Taiwan branch said at the announcement that new phone is specifically designed for taking self – portraits.

The new phone Sony Xperia C 3 will be available first in China in three versions for the top three telecom operators in country. Company has not revealed the price for China yet. However it will cost NT$9,900 (US$330) in Taiwan.

The phone is just 7.6 mm thin and weighs 150g, making it a super-portable smartphone that fits in anywhere. It is available in three Colour options black, white and mint.

The mobile has a 5.5 inches HD (1280 x 720 pixel) Triluminos display supported by Bravia Engine 2 and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM.  Phone has a inbuilt storage of 8GB with expansion up to 32 GB by microSD card.

The mobile has a 2500mAh battery, which is evaluated to deliver up to 24 hours of talk time and 1,071 hours of standby time.Sony Xperia C3

The highlight feature of the Xperia C3 is its 5-megapixel front camera, with a LED flash. Its front-facing camera features a wide-angle view to capture a group selfie without unnecessary squeezing inside the image. It allows users to capture more in the frame when clicking a self-portraits (selfies). It also comes with 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera along with LED flash.

“The C3 launch also marks Sony Mobile’s latest foray into Taiwan’s 4G LTE market, which is forecast to pick up in the second half of the year thanks to greater marketing efforts by local carriers”, Lin said. He also said that Sony Mobile remains confident in its growth in Taiwan this year despite a recent downward revision of its 2014 global smartphone shipment target from 50 million to 43 million units.

ZTE Grand Memo LTE expected to be the first 4G LTE phone for Chinese market

ZTE has announced that its Grand Memo LTE smartphone will be the first 4G LTE smartphone to go on sale in China. The phone recently became the first smartphone to be awarded a TD-LTE handset permit by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the country.ZTE Grand Memo

There is no word on the launch date right now as any of the 4G networks are yet to live in the country but we hope to hear something soon.

ZTE Grand Memo LTE is basically the TD-LTE supported version of the company’s earlier announced Grand Memo smartphone. It packs a 5.7-inch HD display with 1280x720p resolution, 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera. The phone is capable of working on TD-LTE/FDD/TDS/GSM bands.
