Xiaomi has rolled out a new software update for its Redmi Note smartphone, which gives users an option to select SD card storage in the camera, galley, video and music apps. The latest version is carries the version number JHDMIBF30.0 and is available for global WCDMA variants.
Redmi series although comes with a microSD card Slot, but the users were not able to store their photos, music and other files etc. in external storage until now and the latest upgrade is meant to fix that.
The update is currently not available over-the-air (OTA) and the customers will have to update their smartphone manually (or you can wait for the OTA).
For manually updatation, you have to download the update package JHDMIBF30.0 ROM (523MB) from MIUI’s forum and then copy it to your phone’s microSD card in “/downloaded rom” folder. Once you are through with this, you have to run the Updater (usually under Tools Folder), press the menu key and tap on “Select Update Package”. After selecting the copied file and it will prompt you to install the latest ROM.
To remind you again, the update is only applicable for international devices and not Chinese Redmi Note devices. Please visit the MIUI Forum for complete details.
We expect a similar update for Redmi 1S too soon.
